# PMPrinterSetDefault(_:)

Sets the default printer for the current user.

## Declaration

```swift
func PMPrinterSetDefault(_ printer: PMPrinter) -> OSStatus
```

## Parameters

- `printer`: The printer to set as the default printer.

## Return Value

Return Value A result code. See Result Codes.

## Discussion

Discussion The default printer is the printer selected by default in the Print dialog. This function is rarely used. Most applications do not set the default printer directly, but instead let the user choose the default printer in the Print & Fax preference pane of System Preferences.
